To help me decide on the exact font I wanted I created a quick choice on paper which I then noted down in a tally chart to help choose the exact font that would suit my work.

After this survey I found that most people think that 'AMETHYST' goes best with the song Hazey by Glass Animals. 

I agree with this answer as I feel it fits with the alternative genre with it simplistic thin lines.

I found this font on the website 'Dafont'.

Masking Transition

Masking Transition

This was a short practice at an obscure masking transition, the video below shows my second attempt.

During the creation of this footage, I did a lot more movement than my original shoot for the transition. Out of this and my first file that was sadly corrupted, I feel my first version looked nicer but the transition was not as successful as I left the centre point of the transition this being a person in the scene in the first version this meant that when I went to add the second half of the scene in there was a double image of the main person.

What I have learnt from producing these practice edits is that.

• To have a smooth transition I need to ensure my camera stays at the same speed and area between the two different shots.
• I need to be careful of the secondary shot so that the central point does not double.
• This is not incredibly difficult and only takes between 30-60 minutes to implement successfully.

Questionnaire on the content of Music videos

This has been sent to my peers at school both media students and non-media students. I will check back in a week or so at the results and include them in the planning of my music video. Office 365's forms have been used to create an easy to create the questionnaire with different formatted questions such as video questions, rating questions and long answer questions.

Transition Inspiration

Transition Inspiration

While watching the latest Sugar Pine 7 'What's happening to my destroyed car?', a transition between 1:03 and 1:07 in the video they use a pillar to change between the character Steven and Cib.

I would like to implement this into my work as it is an interesting transition that would be useful for changing locations and give this disjointed feeling usually associated with conventions of alternative videos. With this transition, I can allow a very loose narrative to be in place to give the video some meaning as well giving the target audience something to analyse as I found a lot of the followers of the alternative genre in my target audience like to further analysis. By having a fluid narrative more analysis can be done on the video.

I then took these comments and compiled them to create an idea of who my audience would be and what they would most likely, like in content from the bands music videos.
