The last option for the Steadicam is the 'IVATION Pro DSLR Rig System' this more of a shoulder mount and the one from past experience I find the easiest to use and set up. However, it does take up the most space but that's not a very big problem depending on the location of where I decide to shoot the video.

Steadicam Choices

I have decided to look into the use of Steadicams and what I have available to me from school that could aid me in creating a continuous looking video with smooth camera movement as is seen in videos like 'Salt' and 'Hazey' which have been mentioned in previous blog posts.

Option 1:

The first option is the 'Optecka x-grip professional camera/camcorder action stabilising handle' this handle may be the most compact but does not always get the smoothest shots, this may be used if I need to travel longer distances to film.

Option 2:

The second option is the 'Shoulder load vest, steady cam rig and stabiliser rig arm' this is
more complicated to set up and could take a while to set up when filming, but objectively produces the most professional looking shots out of the three options for Steadicams. It is quite heavy, however.

Next Step:

After conducting some research on the available Steadicams all that is left to do is practice with them to get the smoothest shots in my final piece.
